This A6 postcard features an illustration titled 'Tradescant's House, at South Lambeth,' published by C. Dyer of Soho London, c. 1817. Tradescant's home in South Lambeth, known as 'The Ark' in the 17th century, is the left-hand house with the adjacent brick house being the home of Elias Ashmole. The houses were purchased in 1880 by the builder Frederick Snelling and redeveloped by Messrs J. & J. Goodman with new housing—now Tradescant Road and Walberswick Road.
